These are the benefits of buying artisan beads instead of mass-produced imports.  All other beads or miscalleneous art I create such as jewelry or clay beads are carefully made ensuring the utmost quality.

F.A.Q's about
reproducing beads
Designs reproduced cannot be duplicated stroke by stroke. While the same glass brand, colors and techniques will be applied, minor variations in size, shape or color are a normal aspect of the lampworking process and should be expected. That's the way the cookie crumbles in lampworking.  That's also why it's so much fun taking beads out of the kiln in the morning!

ABC's of
Lampwork Lingo
Aventurine: Glass in which sparkly particles of copper have been suspended. Usually the base glass is copper-colored, but blue, green, and even purple goldstone is occasionally available
Bullseye: a manufacturer of soft (soda-lime) glass in the United States.
Dichroic glass: "Dichro." Glass with a metallic coating that causes it to appear to be two different colors, one in reflected light and one in transmitted light. Any type of glass can be coated with dichro.
Enamels: Fine powdered glass with concentrated color pigments.
Frit: small pieces of crushed glass. Can be anything from powder to chunks.
Spacers:  Small accent beads used to compliment larger beads or used as a "shim" to add length to a piece of jewelry.
